It will remain available to those who need it most until June 30th, well beyond the cold plan deadline set for March 31st. “The extension of the terms for the use of the premises in via Gentiloni in favor of welcoming the homeless is good news that we welcome with relief” – wrote the president of Municipality III, Paolo Marchionne, and the councilor in a note to Social Policies, Maria Romano, thanking the Campidoglio and the Capitoline councilor Barbara Funari.

Welcoming homeless people beyond the cold floor

“An agreement – they explain from Piazza Sempione – which was possible to reach thanks also to the commitment and sensitivity demonstrated by the general director of Farmacap Di Guardo and by the extraordinary commissioner Marzetti who granted us until 30 June the use of the premises where from 2018 the center is used. Teamwork rewarded thanks also to the synergy of all the subjects involved in the management of the reception center without whom – underlined Marchionne and Romano – it would not have been possible to guarantee its continuity: the employees of the Social Services of the III Municipality and the Rome Red Cross whom we thank. Taking action for months so as not to close the reception center today was a clear and precise political choice of the majority because we are convinced – they concluded – that the political and administrative commitment for the most fragile subjects must have priority as well as the right to housing and work”.
