Francesco Vaia has been reconfirmed general manager of Spallanzani

Francesco Vaia has been reconfirmed general director of the Spallanzani Institute in Rome. The act of appointment was finalized this afternoon with the positive opinion of the Health Commission of the Lazio Regional Council (13 votes in favor and one against).

“In the last 2 years”, Francesco Vaia “has concentrated his activity in combating the pandemic. Not only for the Spallanzani part, but also in making the entire healthcare system available. There are no pending criminal proceedings and he can be included in the National Register due to his age which is 68. The act is therefore fully legitimate”. This was said by the Lazio Health Councilor, Alessio D’Amato, in his speech to the Regional Health Commission, where the favorable opinion was given for the reconfirmation of the director of the INMI Spallanzani of Rome.

“His choice is essentially linked to the need for continuity of the excellent work done in combating the pandemic – added D’Amato – A work that has seen many professionals of the institute receive public recognition, starting with Vaia himself who received the maximum recognition of the merit of the Republic from the hands of President Mattarella. As regards his curricular importance, we are talking about a doctor who is also an expert in business and healthcare management – underlined the councilor – who has had a long course and long experience in various Roman companies and university hospitals”.
