Among the students employed at La Sapienza

A “soft” occupation that has been set up since last night, Wednesday 30 March, by the students of La Sapienza in Rome within the Faculty of Letters. The door is open and lessons continue as scheduled, while assemblies are held in the main hall or in the central corridor.

Initiative that is part of a two-day “mobilization” with which the students decided to address the topic of war, including debates and meetings. But not only that, because “what we ask for is a clear and clear position from the University as a place of culture and training – explains Thomas from Link Sapienza -. Among the partners of our university there is Leonardo spa, one of the main arms manufacturing companies in the world, and this doesn’t sit well with us”.

On this occasion, the topic of the total reopening of social and study spaces inevitably returns which, due to the pandemic, have been limited: “With a reservation system that has never worked well and which has effectively taken away students’ possibility of experiencing university – continues Thomas -. The occupation also wants to take back these spaces. The university where it can once again become a public and discussion place for the city”.
